Innsbruck’s treasures

The old city centre can look back on 800 years of history. It is home to cultural gems such as the famed Little Golden Roof, Schwarze Mander sculptures, imperial Hofburg and nearby Schloss Ambras, the Alpine Zoo, Bergisel Olympic ski jump and Swarovski Crystal Worlds. The university city of Innsbruck also has plenty to offer those who like the night life.

Mountain and city

Particularly impressive is the unbelievable nearness of mountain to city, nature to culture. The Nordkettenbahn aerial railway designed by the famous architect, Zaha Hadid, takes you from the centre of the city to the mountain in no time at all.

And the Bergisel Sprungschanze ski jump, also designed by this star architect, offers a panoramic view of the city and the opposing northern mountain range, and maybe even a little ski jumping too!
